My take on a quiche.
- Frozen broccoli
- Frozen chopped spinach
- Microwave for five minutes.
- Lay out the pie crust in the dish. Add the veggies, egg beaters egg whites and top with low fat mozzerella cheese.
- Very delicious!
Low cholesterol, high on taste!
With my lack of free time, I have decided that I will use a few hours a week to read for leisure. It should help my blood pressure and sanity. I’m looking forward to it, because I have joined a book club on goodreads.com. I’m incredibly thrilled as I am reading City of Bones! I’m about seventy pages in and ready to find out more. Bonus, the movie is going to come out!
The other day I arrived home and decided to take a nice warm shower. I was pulling off my hoodie when my bracelet went with it! I’ve searched high and low, to no avail. I cannot find my bracelet anywhere! I suppose it’s time to invoke St. Jude….
This book had its up and downs for me. First, it was hard to get into, and then I was riveted. Towards the end I began to lose interest again. It was a reading roller coaster.
So there is a girl, Ash, she can see fairies. She decides to tell her friend/love interest Seth. He believes her. A fairy king, Keenan, needs to have Ash become his wife to defeat his evil mom. The whole book revolves around Ash and Keenan and how they don’t really like each other, and have other love interests but need to rule together.
It was enjoyable, but not the best. I didn’t see it as a waste of time, but it’s not a book I would re-read.
So lately, I have noticed that my blood pressure has been rather high. It’s in the yellow! You know how those home blood pressure machines inform you if it’s good (green), worrisome (yellow), or OMGoodness get yourself some help like yesterday (red). Well, mine has been yellow. I then learned that music can help your pulse. I figured if it can help my pulse, then why not mellow me out? I want to be in the green! I already try to workout when I can (ok, not as much as I should, but I’m a work in progress), and eat relatively well (sometimes too much). Well, I found this artist Melody Gardot and she is amazing. I never realized I could like jazz as much as I love her music. It’s relaxing, it’s deep, it’s bliss.
I highly recommend her.
This book is off my beaten path, but I highly recommend it. This is one of those books that you pick up and it completely alters your perception of what reality really is. Reading about Frank Meeink’s life was something that will resonate within me. I’m not saying it’s a book of roses or it’s happy and fun, because it’s not. This book looks at a man’s life that has pretty much been to hell and then some, and how he recognizes that he needed help–needed to make a change. If you’re against hatred, this book is something you should read. It’s truly an amazing book.
As the new year has begun, it is time to start the Cozy Mystery Challenge….my only problem is selecting a delectable mystery to start! Any suggestions?
So last night, I decided to get lost in a book. I couldn’t pick a book that would absorb me to the point I would stay up all night and never get work done. I perused my Kindle for something to grab my attention and landed on “Bewitching the Werewolf,” by Caroline Hanson. ( Keep in mind, this is my personal opinion and I do not mean to offend anyone. ) I started reading the book and within the first page, I disliked the main character. I figured that perhaps this would be overcome, but things just got worse. Not only did the main character seem to be rude, but the plot was predictable and boring. After the first 20 pages, I lost complete interest in finishing the book. I couldn’t even force myself to keep reading. I’m sorry to say this, but Bewitching the Werewolf isn’t going to Bewitch any readers.
So…I don’t know about you, but when I finish a book I find it so hard to decide on what to read next. I have a ton of choices! I seem to just buy books for my kindle like it’s some sick addiction. Those 99 cent books…where you just seem to think, it’s a dollar, what’s the harm? I have a back load of books to read, and have no idea if I’m in the mood for a mystery…a drama…a kick butt heroine…some romance…or light hearted fun…maybe even a mixture of all of them!
The woes of deciding what book to read. I’ll have to let you know when I do. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
I’ve officially caught up to the last book released, number four. I finished it last night. I spent a good four + hours finishing the book. Now, this is a good sign. It means it was incredibly entertaining. The problem was that in book four, Charley began to get a wee bit annoying. I know that she had a rough ending in book three, but her random comments began to distract from the plot and cause Charley to become more of an annoyance than a character you could relate to. I mean we all have random tangents, but hers were beginning to get a little too much. It felt like I couldn’t go a page without thinking “Seriously? Again already?”. I will definitely pick up the next book, as I want to know what happens with the war between heaven, hell, and those caught in the middle on Earth.
This wasn’t my favorite book, but it was decent. I would say books three and four would average a 3.5 star rating out of 5. Not too bad.
Now to pick another book to read.
